|The Film Salon @ Trinity-First is an ongoing retrospective monthly film series. The Film Salon meets on the first Saturday of each month, at 7:30pm, at Trinity-First United Methodist Church in El Paso, Texas. Trinity-First is located at the corner of Mesa and Yandell. All screenings are free of charge and a free nursery is provided with reservations three days in advance. Contact 533-2674 for more information.
The Film Salon is devoted to the exposure, study and appreciation of classic and important American films. Each screening includes a brief introduction, and concludes with a discussion of the film.
Our Spring 2006 series will focus on the importantce of the "film noir" genre with particular attention to the seminal period 1944 to 1946. The Spring Schedule is as follows:
January 7: Otto Preminger's "Laura" (1944)
February 4: Edward Dymytrx' "Murder, My Sweet" (1945)
March 4: Howard Hawks' "The Big Sleep" (1946)
April 1: Robert Siodmak's "The Killers" (1946)
